Reconsideration Request – No Response After 6 Months

Hello everyone,

I submitted a reconsideration request for my rejected visitor visa six months ago. My letter was detailed but concise (two pages), and I followed up after 2 months and again after 4 months. Despite knowing my chances are way below 1%, I have not received any response from IRCC.

I understand there is no official timeline for reconsideration requests, but isn’t there an expectation to at least receive a response after this much time?

Has anyone experienced a similar delay, and what would you recommend?

Hi, we had received a visitor visa refusal for my wife's parents and raised a reconsideration request through webform on Dec 23. Got an acknowledgement of webform received on the same day. Today(Jan 13), got another email that reconsideration request is forwarded to the responsible office. What will be the next step and any idea on how long it'll take? If someone has a positive response from a reconsideration request, please do share your experience. Thanks!

There are no timelines so most times it is faster to reapply and submit new document to support reasons for refusal. What was the error in law?
