Yes, based on my experience and the experience of a friend, the best thing to do is to create an independent TRV application for each person. The study permit and the OWP could be online, and it should go on paper for the child (the visitor record).
It is the same checklist or documents requested for the online application. Send all these documents, even the photos. The study permit extension for your 8-year-old son can be done without problems on the IRCC webpage; the visitor record extension for your 4-year-old son is the issue. Do it...
It's the same situation as mine (like copy-paste). Don't expect that with your wife's application, your son's TRV will be approved; I am confident it will be rejected. The online option that is not coherent is applying like you are outside Canada; that doesn't make sense.. that's why the more...
I have noticed that the times for the IRCC could vary significantly for the same process. For example, my PGWP took three months, while another person's only took one month.
My only advice is not to apply online with the option "visitor holder" or something related to the visitor record or permit. I did that three times, and the three times were rejected (the quick reply was: your son holds a valid visitor record; apply for a TRV instead). Applying by paper (sending...
Hi. Could you please share more details about the timing? I am planning to travel abroad in December, and I am afraid that applying by paper will take me all these remaining months.
thanks
Oh my god, I read about the same problem about three years ago in this forum. I applied three times. Two were rejected (they said my son has a visitor record, so I should apply for a TRV), and now I am waiting for the decision on the third attempt.
