E-Visa to India ( with Canadian passport)

They say 72 hours but you get an approval within 24. In my experience the approval arrives after noon on a working day in India.

    OCI documents

I went to a studio and got a picture specifically for OCI. Just tell them India-OCI and they give both hard and soft copy. I am.in Toronto and used TPH.

    Need help with eligibility period

Yes. If you spent 183 days in any one country during the past 4 years (even if it was before you became a PR) you must provide the Police Clearance Certificate.

How much buffer time do you keep?

The physical presence calculator is your official counter :) IRCC follows the same calculation as the physical presence calculator. If you arrived in Canada on 2nd Sep, that day is credited in your physical presence. Just be careful about the travels where you drive across around midnight. You...

    October 11th 2017 - Citizenship Applicants under 3/5 rule

As another poster correctly identified, I misread your original post. I did not apply by mail. I went to a Passport Office and dropped off my application in person as I was going on a trip in 4 days from my date of application. I was trying to choose the Express service that would have given me...

    October 11th 2017 - Citizenship Applicants under 3/5 rule

If you chose the express serviceExpress service the passport is issued the next day I think. When I applied for my passport I requested express but the passport office determined that I won't need the Express and gave me the next level of service, which meant I got it in 3 days.

Using kiosk with no passport stamp

I can give my case as an example. I had passport stamps but 2 of my stamps led to more questions than answers. The interviewer said "I will go and check in my system if you really were present in Canada". I had the I94 data from the US and submitted that to the officer. She said she couldn't use...

You can call the helpline and get the info. Just tell them you haven't received any communication yet but the online status has updated.

    Need help please, citizenship ceremony

IRCC will inform you but if you are worried, check your online status. It would be updated with details of your application

    OCI process

While I agree with that rationale as a valid explanation, there is no reason US dollars have to be the benchmark for OCi and eVisa fees. The processing is done locally in Canada ( BLS,and Consulate) and India (Delhi). This is just a pure money grab. EVisa fees almost tripled if I am not wrong...

Need help on application form (CIT0002E)

The physical presence calculator will specify your eligibility period based on your inputs. Use the same set of dates as answer to the first of your questions. Yes. You lived outside Canada during your eligibility period. So you answer yes to that question.

    Decision Made after Test?

I can never say always as there are exceptions but it is generally positive. I can't imagine why it could go negative right after the test.

I'm figuring-out what to buy myself as a gift when this is all over...

This thread is interesting as I am learning about things to experience in Canada!
