I agree I don’t have to wait. I just meant it this way because getting Indian passport is faster than getting Canadian citizenship certificate and Canadian passport

Just applied for both citizenship surrender and OCI together at brampton bls. Only original docs they took from me for OCI is COPR which will be returned to me in 15 days i think. They didnt ask for my original canadian passport or citizenship certificate. I am not really worried if my docs gets...

There is a chance of missing documents during transit. Yes it seems OCI is complicated. But I read in another thread that brampton bls allow one to apply for the surrender certificate and OCI on the same day. Receipt of the surrender application can be uploaded in lieu of surrender certificate...

I think original documents will be for verification only and they will return it. I dont think foreigners are allowed to own property in India. OCI is not just about you, its helpful for kids and grand kids I think. Whats your opinion? I am not an expert on this. I prepared my documents for OCI...
