So..update. The dream is over for us. Turns out they had reached out to us on Nov 6 for some replacement documentation. We didn't receive any emails or physical letters. So it's now past 30 days and they've rejected the application.

Just got a call from IRCC saying that there's missing documents on my parent's application, apparently they had sent out a letter but because of the Canada Post situation, they decided to call me. Was weird to receive a call but went to the PR portal to check and sure enough the application...

Highly doubt it unless there was some proof of fraud or misrepresentation going on which lead to a denial but in that cause they'd just be barred from coming back to Canada (at least for a set period of time). I wouldn't worry about it.
