It is not taking 12 months to get spouse PR, if you are PR applicant. My friends got their spouse PR within 6 to 7 months and If you have applied PR for spouse, in mean time you can apply work permit for her while PR is in progress.

No LOE was asked. I mention when i was submitting my application for PR. But if you are thinking to mention after you have submitted PR application, just send update Background Info form. It should be OK. It actually depends on officer how he/she handles your case.

thanks for your reply. I was refused student and visitor visa of USA. It was general refusal from India. Nothing mentioned on my passport or ever denied. I do hold visitor visa now of USA. I have been to USA 2 times without trouble. I am planning to declare it.Hope for best :)
