Just relax and you will be fine. My old passport had the same issue for 10 years which never caused any issue for me :) but if you are worried then send an inquiry to BLS and take a print out of sent item or screen shot as a proof that you are working on it.

If you re applicant from inside Canada, any nationality passport must be sent to Ottawa including indians. You are absolutely right Indian passport must not cross any border through courieer or someone else other than the passport holder. I hope that answer ur question.

It will not include anybody name than the applicant So don't worry just sent her passport too in the same envelope...
