legal change of name in PR card

My personal reason roughly boils down to preventing discrimination based on a name whose ethnicity can be guessed easily and to not have memories of some past that I want to forget. Again, people from many countries know me by my new name so I just want to make it legal. I agree with your idea...

legal change of name in PR card

I believe my next step will have to be to apply for a change of name in Quebec. I didn't change my name to adopt my spouses last name. I changed it for personal reasons.

Legal name change while applying for citizenship or after?

Nope. I changed my full name to the name that I've been using informally for many years. It's not due to marriage, but due to personal reasons.

Citizenship application with the name change

Hi canadavisa3. Were you able to obtain a provincial ID from Quebec in your new name? What procedure did you follow? And information will be helpful because I'm in a similar situation. The IRCC asks for a provincial document in my new name, while Quebec asks for an immigration document in my...

Legal name change while applying for citizenship or after?

Hey! I'm in the same boat. What happened in your case? I'd love to know. Here's my situation: - I changed my name legally, outside Canada. - I returned to Canada with a PRTD because the airlines won't let me board a plane without one. - I applied for a name change on my PR card. - The IRCC...

legal change of name in PR card

Hey! I'm in the same boat. What happened in your case? - Did you update your PR card to say your new name? - If yes, which province were you in? - Did the IRCC ask for a provincial ID card first? Here's my situation: - I changed my name legally, outside Canada. - I returned to Canada with...

Online Processing time for SIN(Social Insurance Number) in Canada

I had applied in QC around 6 months ago to extend the date of expiration of my SIN. They did it in under a week and mailed the new document to my address.

Quebec Skilled Worker Federal Stage (After CSQ)

I read somewhere that they are not prioritizing outlands much because the job market is very bad at the moment. Bringing in new people might result in the government having to support those people financially if they cannot find a descent job soon. Despite being in MTL, it has been very hard for...

    Why is security not starting?

I must comment here as well because I got my COPR a few days ago. Ordering GCMS notes doesn't trigger actions. As a matter of fact, the page for requesting the GCMS notes states that ordering GCMS notes doesn't speed up your application.

Quebec Skilled Worker Federal Stage (After CSQ)

The changes I was referring to took place in early 2019 when the CAQ govt changed certain rules (and cancelled 18,000 old applications). For example, I got my CSQ after working in QC for 12 months and getting B2 in a French test. These days, PEQ applicants need too have 2 years for work...

    Last quarter 2018(July-December in/outland)without PAL/MR/DM/PPR contact here!

None. I've assumed that I won't get my PR in 2021. I've read and heard many theories, but it all boils down to the fact that they're not starting our security checks. At the same time, 2019 is getting their PRs, all the way to Jul 2019. Let's hope for the best and not rely at all on their...

No PR yet and no sign of security check either. I've assumed that I won't get my PR in 2021.
