Came across two individuals who were stuck in SS,, got tracker update BG and OATH same day recently, one from July 2023 and the other from August 2023 application Strangely one of them had application date 25 August and now background completion 25 March

Anyone received random email from IRCC "Free settlement Services for Permanent Residents" I am stuck in Security Screening since Sept 2023 and today out of nowhere I received this email. It doesn't make sense as I became a PR 5 years ago

It's random, no one has ever been able to know why only a few applicants are picked for Security Screening,,, have read through hundreds of posts ,, I have pretty straightforward Application and I am stuck

someone said 16months is the norm these days for Security Screening. I will be at that mark Feb 28, Let's see if I get some update by first week of March

NO, Security Screening is part of Background check, when BG complete means you passed Security Screening In my case Background still in progress after FP results received, bcoz I am stuck in SS since 1 year , everything else is complete

you should see " we have received your fingerprints results" updated on the tracker ; and BG completed would be next if you are not selected for Security Screening ; Call yourself LUCKY in that case

Many of us stuck in Security Screening, some people waiting 2 yrs . No idea what's the selection criteria that puts us in that waiting list.

It's selective, not everyone gets it, but whoever gets its valid for one year. It's needed for the Criminality part of Background check. If you never got means you passed Criminality without FP requirement.

Did you get Fingerprints request last year? I got it second time this Nov , last ones Nov 2023 valid for 1 year only

Took a day And needed the ETA with picture to be printed from the website. Unfortunately there were no instructions about it other than that your ETA is the email. But Email did not work,
