Thanks. I did get a new i94 with status changed to H1B

Hi I just realized my passport was not stamped upon arrival into the US(the immigration entry stamp). I Had used AVR to gain re-entry via the rainbow bridge at Niagara. I got a new i94. Is that common? Even my wifes passport was not stamped and she was not even issued a new i94.

I got my PR in Dec 2019. I have not moved yet. Do I need to file taxes for 2020? Did not file for 2019 either!!

I did soft landing in Dec 2019 so things may have changed since then. But I had the same situation where the immigration officer did not register me for PR card saying I will get it when I move permanently..I was there for a few days so I just called the customer care , gave my relatives address...

I believe your status and i94 date would be updated to reflect what's on your latest documents-i20 or i797. You can go through avr as many times as you like.

Yes my i797 says H1 and I did show it to the officer who confirmed that I am not on F1 anymore and that in June 2019 I changed to H1. He also confirmed the employer name but when I came home and checked i94 online it still said class of admission as F1. Not sure what's going on here. :(

What about the class of admission? My last visa is a F1 Visa but in June 2019 I changed status to H1. I don't have a H1 stamp yet. The i94 that I got issued at border says class of admission as F1. Shouldn't that have been updated to H1?
