For those who have received background completion - before the completion, has there ever been a status update in the tracker with the message of "Background verification status has been updated to In progress"？

That happens. Maybe try logging out and back in.

Try this on your tracker page(chrome): right click->inspect->console->Object->relations->0->history

Were they able to leave Canada and re-enter during that long process?

It says under background check “We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information.”

Everything else is complete and green. It's just the background check that's still blue and in progress.

Just found out today that we entered security check. Got code 17 for security in the tracker. Bummer.

I applied for OWP a few weeks ago. I haven't decided if I should also apply for a visitor record extension just in case anything goes wrong with the OWP.

Hi guys, I have a question about maintaining status while waiting for PR - can I still apply for visitor record extension if I have less than 30 days left in my current record? I know the government advises to do it when having more than 30 days, but wonder if it's a hard requirement. Thanks!
