I am thinking to apply a separate TRV for kid providing explanation that parents got visa but study permit application decision is delayed and parents needs to travel to start work and cannot leave kid behind. Have anyone got success with that so far?

No, I did not apply TRV for kid .Just paid the fee at time of application. Kid is 6.5 yr old now . I am not sure but maybe TRV is required for kid < 5 yr and Study permit for >5 yr . Please cross check.
