Thank you for the response. He won’t be travelling in Canada per say. We will be hosting him and fully supporting him while he’s here. What sort of evidence could we give him to show if he’s asked?
How about a visitor from an EU nation? I have a friend who wishes to visit for six months from France. He’s a French citizen so no visa required. What proof should he show at the border that he intends to return? And most importantly, should he buy a return ticket?
My wife and I are in the same boat as you guys - we’re also returning to Canada, elderly parents at home etc. - , but what you could do is isolate in a place within your home (i.e. the basement for example) and just have them bring meals down.
My lawyer contacted them by webform. They also didn’t update us as to if medical results were accepted or not. But when we contacted them on that via webform (again through our lawyer) they confirmed their reception of the results.
Roughly:
We submitted the application on September 20, 2019
I was approved as a sponsor end of October 2019
We did the medical end of November 2019
We did the biometrics in December 2019
Heard nothing until March 16, when they acknowledged app was received in Warsaw.
Received Pre Arrival and...
What we did was contact them 3 weeks after we received Pre Arrival Services letter and DM on ECAS. They responded that we can immediately mail them my wife’s passport and four photos.
edit: by “them“ I mean the embassy in Warsaw where the app was being processed.
Does anyone know if a change in address with CIC will cause a file to be moved from one visa office to another?
Say if I live in England, and the spousal app is being processed in London VO, and then I move to Vienna. Will the file be sent to Vienna VO and put at the back of the line?
Thus...
Do we need to disclose to CIC each time we take a trip out of our current country of residence? My lawyer seems to think if we don’t it counts as misrepresentation. Really confusing because - especially as someone living in the borderless Schengen zone - I can’t seem to make the connection...
we have also been together the better part of a decade by now :-)
I found the advice a bit out of the ordinary - otherwise I wouldn’t bother asking the forum.
