I recently got my PR. I've been in Canada for 8 months now. I went back to my home country for a month recently too. I want to exchange my licence to a BC one but the process will take months (I need to apply via paper and get a hard copy of my license history sent back to Canada from Australia)...

No problem. It's a new system that was just released on the PR portal so people don't know about it.

It says on the ircc website that you can not have 2 applications for PRTD in process. So I would not recommend applying again online on the PR portal.

Go to your PR portal and you will see at the top PR CARD/PRTD APPLICATION " It's a new thing.

You can log in to your PR portal and there is now a tab at the top that says "PR CARD/PRTD APPLICATION. I applied there last week.

Ahh ok. I applied through my PR portal. And they got back to me within a week.

I applied for PRTD via my PR portal on 16th June and ircc just asked for my passport so I sent it yesterday. The consulate of Canada here in the clu try I'm visiting sent me an email and asked me when I want to return and I said asap.

I just applied online on my PR portal and didn't get an email receipt either from ircc. No idea how long it will take, I even requested urgency.

I need to travel urgently but only have my PR confirmation letter, no eCOPR or PR card yet. Can I get a PRTD once I'm back in my home country (Australia)? How long will it take?
