CBT Test. I was confident of 8 as well, since my bad handwriting was removed from the equation :) . In 2018, PBT, Academic i had got 7.5 in writing.

My guess is for CBT, the automatic flagging of results in cases of scores differing more than 2 isn't happening. However, no way to confirm this. Tried talking to the test center people, they had no clue on this aspect. Am 100% sure that for paper based test, this auto flagging of results...

Myself, i had got 6.5 in CBT for writing, raised EOR and got 7.5.

I checked some sample writing tasks by googling and compared mentally to what i had written in my tasks. Once i was confident that what i remembered as writing was definitely similar to some band 7/8 level samples, I applied for EOR. My W-6.5 increased to 7.5 after EOR.

6.5 to 7, CRS increases by about 50 points. 7 to 7.5 adds about only 3. (assuming CLB 10 reached)
