Honestly if they were going to process those they would have. The fact that they haven’t means it won’t happen until the suspension is lifted - just a horribly unfair frustrating situation!
These people have applied for OCI (including me)- that means they surrendered their Indian passports and it says cancelled. I think that 90 days grace period only works BEFORE you surrender it! So I think this might be a huge risk
I emailed visa.vancouver@mea.gov.in and heard back within 24 hours - they didn't actually answer the question I had about E-visas (will they process visas of those who applied BEFORE suspension) but they did confirm that OCI services will continue!
I spoke to BLS and Vancouver Consulate today and they both confirmed that they're processing OCI applications and continue to accept new OCI applications as well.
I just spoke to BLS and they also confirmed (along with Consulate) that OCI applications are being processed and they are accepting NEW OCI and SC applications as well. Please do not panic - It was probably just a miscommunication. @tom93 I would recommend deleting your post so as to avoid more...
'All consular services, including OCI services, continue to be provided' - this is an email I got from the Indian Consulate in Vancouver today. Did they specifically mention no OCI?
Has anyone who applied for a visa before the suspension tried contacting the consulate? Might be worth asking if they’ll at least process ones that were in range! It’s super unfair otherwise
Thanks for replying! A person on this thread said E-visa 'was not granted' but didn't clarify if they meant not processed in time or just rejected. A rejection would not be good at all!
