Hi All, got the visa. seems like they are processing the 2023 files now.

both have same timelines if application goes into background check for military / govt retired officials. Specifically, there are no published timelines, nor anyone has got the visa in last 2.5 years, hence its an open ended one in which some people are waiting for 2+ years. I've also applied...

no guarantee of 2 year time as well, i know multiple people whose wait time has crossed 24 months. this is just a delayed tactic by IRCC and nothing else.

what if IRCC holds the decision for another 2 years for mil/govt retd parents, what options do we have?

yes pretty much unrealistic as you can't plan anything, seems like a hold on all military related applications rather than a background check.

no, since military background check is also done for visitor visa, just wait, since the processing times for military background is screening is high, around 1-2 years nowadays.

seems like the processing times of visit visa application for military retired person are between 1-2 year. I haven't received any update yet and its been more than a year now.
