When I went into the testing centre in Toronto to take the CELPIP there were quite a few Americans and Brits.

It'll be interesting in 18 months or so to look back and see if there was an increase in actual American immigration to Canada. By which I don't count FB posts of empty threats, but actual migration.

Yep. It's a tumultuous time in the US. My Timeline thus far: April 16th, 2017, Decided to take the plunge and pursue status in Canada. April 22, took the CELPIP in Toronto May 9 my mother passed, so that put things on hold for a while. May 30, sent packet to FBI for background check...

You mean, cross the border, activate the COPR, spend a few days in Canada, go back to the States for a while, and then move? The thing is that when you make your initial landing in Canada with the COPR, they'll ask an address to mail the PR Card within the next 8 weeks or so. The Address must...

Last week, I got into an argument with someone who supported the ACA repeal. When it got heated, they said "If you don't like it, LEAVE!" I chuckled to myself, and muttered, "Planning on it!"

I feel like regardless of red/blue state, most people in this country can't understand anyone leaving, for ANY reason. We've been the destination country for so many immigrants, that in the collective consciousness there's some kind of mental barrier preventing people from understanding that...
