I am going to Toronto via Dubai, applied for Dubai visa and got it.

I got my PPR on 28th August, and currently its at IRCC for processing. I am thinking to apply for SOWP once I land, does that make sense? Also, I looked at the processing time, and currently it is 25 weeks.

Total false. Many of my cohort people who applied for SOWP on student visa got their respective PPR for their spouses too.

NO PPR stands for passport request, its the request embassy sends for stamping visa on your passport.

Another option that is good is, India to Maldives Maldives to Toronto, its cheap. The only con is you have to pay extra for the baggage.

How long does it take for VFS to verify the PPR? I raised the request yesterday at 11:00 AM IST. Also I am in Bangalore, what is the usual turnaround time for the stamped passport to come back.

Is there anyway I can go and give me passport directly at VFS for faster processing?
