I got only 1 draft for CGI's fee for OCI application. BLS's fee and renunciation fee can be paid by debit card. I think BLS's fee was around $7. My surrender certificate arrived in 4 weeks.

How do expect to come back to Canada with Indian passport? You will have to cut your PR card during your citizenship ceremony. You can't enter Canada on Indian passport after that. You need to have Canadian passport.

It think it was around 7 days when status at BLS showed up. It took 21 days for status to show up at OCI website. I have also received my cancelled passports via Purolator last Thursday (December 2nd). So it took about 27 days to get the cancelled passport after in-person submission at BLS.

In my case, it took them 21 days. Walk-in application submitted at BLS on Nov 5 and acknowledged on OCI website on Nov 26.

They need 2 copies of some documents (because surrender and OCI are 2 different applications). I was carrying 2 sets of copies for each document - one self attested and one non-attested. They were fine with that. If they say they need both copies self attested, you can self attest them right...

Will BLS centres be open this Friday or account of Diwali on Thursday? Their website says the centre is open Mon-Sat except designated holidays but doesn't say what are those holidays.

Do you need to self attest the documents for uploading or for printed copies or for both?

I thought they are not taking any appointments?
