What is PPR?

I applied for my mother on Jan 11 and she got her Biometrics letter and Passport request today.

What next after this? Is this the final step? How long does it take to get her passport back when she submits it?
Does this mean that she is approved now?

Is this your second application? did you not apply back in October?

What is PPR?

I applied for my mother on Jan 11 and she got her Biometrics letter and Passport request today.

What next after this? Is this the final step? How long does it take to get her passport back when she submits it?
Does this mean that she is approved now?

Receiving PPR, aka passport request, means you have successfully passed through all immigration processes to Canada and your passport is ready to get the visa to enter Canada. Typically takes about 10-14 days after you send the passport.

I applied through GC key - old portal and it's taking forever

Now I applied through IRCC portal - the new portal and I got PRR in less than a month

when did you apply in GC Key? was it before September 2021 or after? did you pay fees again?

I applied on 23-Oct-2021 for parents and got PPR on Jan 31. Going by this count your application should be approved very soon. Dont worry hang tight
