Great so all of us having Sydney as VO have been moved to Edmonton . I am hopeful that something good might happen in coming weeks as they can’t just move all the files from Sydney to Edmonton n do nothing .. mostly I have observed all of us have background check pending .. maybe Edmonton would be doing that ( am hopeful about it)
Nevertheless let’s keep updating the thread with whatever info we get from Agents or gcms notes as we sept aor folks are moving at somewhat same pace ..same VO and almost everyone is at last stages of background checks . All the best

I have some good news and some bad news.

Good news is Even though your Security might be showing "Not Started", it might be actually complete. The damn IRCC VO do not update notes as fast as they should.

Bad news is .... Edmonton

Hello all, same here aor 3rd September
And last update was on 6 Th October medical passed.
There after no update on my file.
Called the agent just now and came to know that I have passed my eligibility. But background check have not started yet.

Don’t know what exactly they are doing with our files but we should be happy that they have started something rather than just sitting at Sydney.

Hello Folks,
Sharing details of my applications, hopefully helpful for someone similar to my case. Also feel free to share any inputs that could help me get some insights from your experience. TIA.

For my PR under CEC inland:

AOR: Sep 23
Radio silence after that, meanwhile I came to India and got married in Oct
Notified IRCC about marital status change in Nov and requested to add wife in PR application
Finally, Additional docs requested for my wife: Dec 15/Submitted by Dec 29
Acknowledged by IRCC on receipt of docs: Jan 7
Medical passed update: Jan 7
Biometrics cleared update: Jan 7

While I wait for my PR, my Work permit was due to expire by 2021. The extension came through after a wait of 6 months but not passport stamping request. I had my company file a dependant for my wife as well since my extension is approved.

For TRV:
Visitor visa(WP stamping request) submitted: Dec 15
Visitor visa for spouse(decided to apply without WP for now as wait times are longer) submitted: Dec 21

So, I’m currently waiting for both TRV & PR whichever I get first to travel back.

Sometimes I feel like the whole process is manual. We have submitted a paper application, not a digital copy.
Somehow some files are misplaced in their office and do not have any traceability, and that is why we are not getting updates because the whole lot is missing.

No movements, updates in the portal after Oct'21.
I think, in this group, we did not hear any portal email this year except 1 or 2.

For me, it is the 134th day, 46 more days to go to touch six months. Despite providing every information, I never thought it would take this long.

You are right, this is a highly manual thing with computers just hanging there.

Biometrics 7th december
Additional document accepted 16th December.

No update ever since.
My question is, if I need to travel to India before I get my ecopr then do I need to inform IRCC? What if I get my portal request and ecopr while I am in India? Is that going to effect my processing time at all?

1) We can't link our PR card applications to MyCIC. The error message shown is that no matching application can be found.
2) In the top, the "Latest Update" field keeps changing between:

1. "January 11, 2022: your application was approved"
2. "December 15, 2021: your background check was completed"

This has been going on for a few days, now. Even during the weekend.

Has this happened to anyone else?

IRCC works in mysterious ways...

Called IRCC and was able to speak to an agent, here is my status:
VO: Ottawa
Eligibility: Passed
Criminality: Passed
Security: In Progress

Does anyone have any idea how long it takes to process security? Am I close?

Should I be excited? Is this going to take another 5 months?
