Hi everyone,
its a inland application with two dependent i got my AINP on 30th june, 2020 and submitted my application on july 6 ,2020 AOR, AR received jan 13 2021. Medical received june. 2021 . Medical passed august 2021. After that i ;have not received any update when i checked online its says your file is in progress and everything is clear expect background check and eligibility check in progress .And I applied on August 2021 for BOWP( bridge open work permit) and i have not received any update on that .Normally it will take 8 to 10 weeks .with that application i received a letter of implied status it says your status is active till 14 december or decision made which ever comes earlier. i do not know what to do please suggest ... i called many times to ircc but failed to connect to officer. Now i am out of status just waiting ...
If you received a "WP-EXT except PGWP" letter You are NOT "out of status". You still have implied status and can keep working till they make a decision on your work permit application even if your "WP-EXT except PGWP" letter has expired. For more information, please see https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/work-canada/permit/temporary/extend/after-apply.html

You can get your upfront medicals done for Paper Based. Which province are you in. Just after I had booked an appointment for upfront medicals in Calgary, I received my Request Letter, however, the Panel Physician had accepted to do my medicals as a PNP applicant.
Alberta.
Every time I go the lady doc says I don't qualify because I don't have the request letter from IRCC asking me to do a medical. Now I am at 85% and 14 weeks left. Still haven't received my biometrics request or my medical request.

:(

you can go to any other Province to do upfront medical. The sooner you complete your application earlier the IRCC officers will process your application. Also your biometrics will be auto updated from your previous TRV applications. You wont get Biometric request letter for PR application if you had ever done Biometrics in last 10 years.

There are several authorized Panel Physicians in Alberta, if that is your Province. Either way, look at this IRCC link and you can see all the Panel Physicians worldwide and you can contact them, or book online.

https://secure.cic.gc.ca/pp-md/pp-list.aspx

There are several examples shared on this forum, illustrating that the progress bar is not entirely reliable. I therefore advice you not to fully depend on it. I also would advise that you contact/call IRCC and ask them why your progress bar shows 85% yet you haven't received a MR. There is no harm in calling. I have called IRCC a number of times, its a painstaking process, it requires patience, being put on hold for a long period of time. Call as early as possible in the AM hours. Speaking to an agent will trigger IRCC to look into your file.

If you are unable to get hold of IRCC over the phone, do it online, by sending a message visa Webform, link below

Does anyone know how long security usually takes to complete?
I doubt there is a straight answer to that. Security/Background check is a lengthy process and is on a case by case basis. Going by the information you have shared on your Signature, your background check is complete and a sign that your PR application has been approved. But that is my personal opinion, I am not an IRCC expert.

Thanks for the reply. Things really picked up for my file last month, ADR then MP then PAL almost back to back within a month. I was so excited after 8 months of silence. Then nothing at all during Christmas, and now a week in the new year already, just making me anxious about whether something's going on with background check. I know it's already a long process as expected, but I can't help but feeling something wrong in the back of my mind. I have about 9 weeks left for the estimated completion date. Really hope something would happen before that as my medical will expire in 3 weeks.

Be positive and continue being patient. And as has been advised, do not depend fully on the progress bar. Someone on this forum shared how his application was approved while his progress bar was still showing 68%. While another shared that a decision had not been made on his application yet his progress bar was already at 100%. Other than it being a lengthy process, there is also a backlog of applications. You can imagine how many applications are assigned to an agent. Hang in there, you are almost at the finish line. :)

Thanks for sharing. We really don't know, do we? I guess I'll go back to focusing on other things instead of being frustrated over this, just like the past 8 months. It's healthier this way I think.

so this is really confusing, please someone help me figure this out. I called IRCC today and the agent told me everything is passed including eligibility and security, my medical is even extended for a year. Yet no DM. I asked why and he said you just had to wait for them to give the final approval. I get it, but what's exactly keeping them from approving once everything is already passed? Is there another step after that I'm not aware of?
