Dud you must've read it wrong. The news says from Oct to Dec, FSW backlog went from 51K to 55K, PNP from 38K to 39K, CEC from 48K to 25K. CEC backlog melts while FSW&PNP grow.

There's no PPR rain whatsoever, and there won't be until that 25K hits exactly zero. It's so clear that IRCC is still prioritizing inland apps and it makes sense since target or not, they're always faster to finalize.

CEC as in only CEC draws I am sure that they are dead.

Inland has always been the favorite, we all know. Why do you think all those international students dropping 25k year choose it? Canada has made it clear since forever that if you study there, the path to permanent resident is open and I fully understand the value behind it.

Outland is to attract skilled workers that dont have much connection with Canada but bring a different kind of value.
Employers can still hire skilled worker using global talent stream (10 days processing time). Government is investing to speed up the processing under this stream so reliance on FSW program to invite ‘high skilled’ will be reduced. GTS workers can meet the criteria of CEC after a year and can become PR.

Don’t think that FSW is the only way.

As IRCC has no control on NOCs, they end up approving permanent residents who are usually not in labour demand. It has made them to overhaul the express entry system. The upcoming NOC based express every system would not have any impact on inland applicants with qualified work experience.

Can anyone write to them ? Thank you so much. I'd like to send an email but my VO is Ottawa. Just wondering if I can email ?
I wrote a long email to the minister few months before and got a reply from his office a while later. They also included the current status of my application. Nothing wrong in writing but I don't think it'll help process you're application faster or anything

Copied from Mandate letter:

Establish a Trusted Employer system: Fraser is being asked to work with the Employment Minister to establish a Trusted Employer system for Canadian companies hiring temporary foreign workers. In addition, he is being asked to improve the Global Talent Stream of the Temporary Foreign Worker Program (TFWP) by simplifying work permit renewals, upholding the two-week processing standard, and establishing an employer hotline.

We should be quite concerned. From the same news:

The Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) backlog increased to about 55,000 in December, whereas it was at nearly 51,000 in October. There was also an increase in the enhanced Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) backlog, 39,000 in December compared to 38,000 in October.

Whereas,

The difference was largely seen in Canadian Experience Class (CEC) applications, which was down to nearly 25,000 applications in December compared to more than 48,000 in October.

No draws yet the backlog grows. CEC melts down. They are simply not looking at outland files at all. Doesn't look very comforting.
You're forgetting about the mandate letter. Point four: "Reduce application processing times, including to address delays that have been impacted by COVID-19."

We also know that they're allocating 85 million to reduce the backlogs and in addition, as illustrated this week, they will not perform any CEC nor FSW draws until the backlogs are under control.

That directive in the mandate letter is the only thing I find reassuring in the overall processing we'll see in 2022. Everything else looks shit to be honest.

Checking VVV62's data one question occured to me:
Their Federal High Skilled (including CEC, FSW) target for 2022 is between 96250-112900. There are 79K people in backlog according to the file of VVV62. Not much room left for pre-ITA people for 2022..or maybe I misinterpret some data
Hi!
You're absolutely right. I've already covered this theme here -
https://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/threads/fsw-worldwide.739338/post-9847324

More people got COPRs in 2021, more free space will be available for ITAs in 2022.

According to the recent stats, throughout Oct-Dec, IRCC sent about 15k golden mails per month.
Subsequently, if we turn to my formula given through the link above, in 2022, IRCC will send this number of ITAs:
10,187 + N = 10,187 + 2*15,000 = 40,187 ITAs.

As a result, I assume that in 2022 it will probably be around 10 regular-sized EE draws of about 3-6k ITAs which will be enough to cover IRCC's 2022 target for EE.

Global Talent Stream is for individuals that posses unique and specialized "talents", they are very small in numbers.

We are on a different category.

What Canada can do and will do is up to them, lets not make assumptions out of thin air. They are processing the applications and we will soon know whats going to happen.

If it is a CEC draw, so be it. Their country, their rules.

The Canadian govt. goes to top business schools in the US and tries to entice students that get into MBB consulting firms to work from Canada under this program - international students that is. Each one of these guys that they get in will contribute 50K per year in taxes to the Trudeau treasury

That 25k can hit zero by February, since IRCC is working with PNP and FSW files aswell. Hence the PPR already seen in the forum.

All the applicants that have a change in their family tree will go down the queue, simple. New application, process starts again.

Am I the only one that sees PNP draws as a good thing right now ? At 400 ITAs biweekly is a gift in my eyes, considering that PNP applications take forever to finalize, even before the pandemic.

PNP draws are never a good (or bad) indicator since PNP draws have to continue as per the agreement between the provinces and the federal government. IRCC would be more than happy to also stop PNP draws but they simply cannot. Also, EE-based PNP is the exact same thing as EE-based FSW in terms of processing. The only substantial additional time a PNP app takes is the time it takes to get the nomination certificate. After that, the file is transferred from the province to IRCC and gets the same treatment as FSW. That's why some people say "PNP though" when they report "FSW" PPRs.

Are they in the 100s or in the 1000s ?

If its in 100s, then they can bring as much as they want all year long because it wont be more than just a weekly 6000 CEC draw.
