Are you also VO Ottawa?

my AOR is Nov 17, 2020.
First Med passed on Dec 22, 2020
First Med expired on Nov 12, 2021.

Have not received extension... I hope to get it soon...

The auto extension public policy is set to expire on Dec 28, 2021...
My VO was Montreal the last time I checked (Sep 2021).

Interesting, didn't know about this expiration date for the public policy. Curiois to know what happens to those whose Med already expired but haven't yet been granted the extension. With time I get to know that IRCC is just a funny place!

Yes I have the same worry. I hope my medical will get extended before Dec 28.

For reference, here is the link to that public policy: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/mandate/policies-operational-instructions-agreements/exempt-certain-in-canada-foreign-nationals-immigration-medical-examination-requirement.html

It says the end date is 6 months after the start date (June 28, 2021).

Do you know which date your first medical show passed? I'm curious how long does it take them to give extension after the first expires...
Mine first one was passed on sep 30
2020. It expired around august and that’s when it got extended. Almost same time around when it expired. Medical changed from passed to you don’t need medical. It got passed second time on 30th Nov 2021.

Hey Li,

I do remember that we are in the same boat. AOR: Sep 19 2020 … my medical was expired in Sep and my local MP said that it’s extended till next Sep for me and my wife but the medical status in my application is still not updated; still said that they don’t need medical exam. VO: Ottawa. Eligibility and security hasn’t started yet and my eligibility was passed last Oct 2020. Not sure whether they will still ask for an updated POF or not?

Yeah I remember. There were only a few of us with sep 2020 aor and Ottawa Vo. No clue if anyone got copr from this aor. For me this is the first update since last Oct 2020 when eligibility passed. And even now I am not wondering how much more wait.

I'm March 2020 applicant and mine was originally passed on April 30, 2020. Expired in March 2021 and extension was granted on April 2021 (as per GCMS). On the portal it was only reflected on Nov 27th.

Realistically speaking, what’s the maximum it could take for Feb/March 2020? It’s been 21 months.

Hi guys,
I am the one who received an additional document request on Dec 4th that was asking to upload those documents prior to Dec 3rd. (Document requested was IMM5562 = updated list of travel in addition to asking to confirm marital status and current address)

I received my GCMS notes today dated Nov 30 2021.
It seems that my file is now in Edmonton. (Previously with Ottawa)
It also appears in the agents notes that this request for additional doc had been made in the same time that my medicals got updated, so on Nov 10th. I didn t receive anything prior to Dec 4th though.

What I have learned from that is:
1. Check the list of documents provided in the same time than checking your online account regardless of having received an ADR or not. That is where a new line will be showing if you need to upload an updated document.
2. The medicals status is definitely updated manually by an agent, having a note stated that in the “agents notes” portion of the GCMS notes. So it is really a good sign when you see this change in your online account.
3. Dont hesitate to request GCMS notes more often than not. If I had received those notes prior to the ADR, I could have been more reactive and respond to it directly.

Good luck to everybody!
Thank for this detailed note. Sharing journeys and tips like these are really helpful. I submitted my ADR and recieved a confirmation on Nov. 16th. Till today, there has been no update since then. Hoping for something soon (AOR- Dec 19, Ottawa, FSW inland)! Best wishes to all.

I see, it seems that they give extension about 1 month after the First Med Expiry date (not the <Passed date + 1 year>).

On my status it now says "November 27, 2021 You passed the medical exam". But before that it said "You do not need a medical exam" from when my medicals expired in March.
