February 2020 - Citizenship Applicants

Hi,

I am from Edmonton and I passed the Citizenship Test on Aug 03, 2021. My application status on CIC tracker was last updated on Aug 19, 2021. Only two sections are completed so far - Citizenship Test and Background, whereas, Language, Physical Presence, and Prohibition are 'in progress' and Citizenship Ceremony is 'not started'.

Is there any other Feb 2020 applicant who is still waiting for staus update (complete) and Oath Ceremony invite?

Lot of them are still waiting for dm/oath. Still waiting after the test. No hopes for this year but hoping they can finish after Jan at least.

Hi guys, hope you are all doing OK.

I checked my tracker and I saw that my oath ceremony was scheduled for Dec 02. I will be travelling outside Canada (to Chile) for the holidays on Dec 18 until Jan 22. I am in Calgary, AB

Anyone with a similar experience in the past?

Do you think I will get the certificate on time? Can I ask for urgent processing if I show the flight tickets?

Can I apply for the passport at the Canadian embassy in Chile?

If not, can I ask for a travel document to comeback to Canada?

Any comments would help. Thanks for the time guys.

Let them know when you are staring the ceremony. They will ask you to send proof(ticket) along with your signed oath declaration. They will make your certificate a priority.

feb 2021 applicants are getting scheduled for oath in December. It is preposterous

I just got oath invite today. I was a Feb 2020 applicant. Can this be updated and does anyone know if you can take the oath out of Canada on Zoom? Like they are doing with the citizenship test?

I think you have to be in Canada because your PR card will be no longer valid and you wouldn't have a document to re enter Canada

How long does it usually take between the tracker showing the Oath Ceremony date and to receive the email showing the instructions?
I got an Oath Ceremony date updated on Nov 17th, but haven't got any email updates yet.

yes, I completed test on June 17th. Everything is in progress except Citizenship test and Background check.

I have completed my citizenship test and waiting for oath. I just observed that my application status updated date shows as Nov 22nd (yesterday),). But there was no updates at all. Did any of you experience similar scenario?

Can anyone please advise?
1) Is this another knowledge test?
2) If not, what's the purpose of this test?
3) If yes, why are they requesting another test, when online test shows completed already.
4) How long after this one, will I get Oath ceremony invite?

It says like below:

Finally got everything completed except oath ceremony
submission: Feb 2020
1st Test invite: April 20 2021 (I missed the date, my fault)
2nd Test invite: Oct 1, 2021
test complete: Oct 1, 2021
language, presence, prohibitions completed Nov 23, 2021.

Decision made in ECAS system, Nov 23, 2021

Finger crossed for oath invitation.

btw, my MP told me that I will have an interview but I never received the invitation (maybe later but this is very unlikely)

2) If not, what's the purpose of this test?
To verify some information, like your language skills, presence, etc.. Just treat it like a casual chat and relax. It's easy and you can ask the official question you may have as well.

3) If yes, why are they requesting another test, when online test shows completed already.

It varies a lot.
