STUDY
Hello everyone, i need help regarding my situation.
I landed here in canada on 28th dec, 2019.
Finished my first term of course on april 25th, 2020.
withdraw from college because of covid and homesickness as I wanted to go back to home.
But, borders were closed at that time so i was stuck. I started contacting college to enroll me back, but they said the course you need will start again in jan 2021, so i had to wait.
Also i worked, 20 hours a week during this gap ( my biggest mistake of life ).
I somehow, got new course in spring term, 2021.
It is fresh new course and i also got my study permit extension too. Which is valid till march 2023.
I am matching all the criteria of study permit before start my new course.
Will i get my pgwp??
Any chances and options.
please guide me.
Thank you

It's impossible for anyone here to say.

If IRCC follows the rules, the PGWP should be refused due to the unauthorized work. However sometimes the officer will bend the rules and still approve the PGWP.

I have Mentioned LOE for extension of study permit l, which explains my situation during gap. And i got approved for my study permit.
if i use that LOE again for my pgwp application. And also as this the Totally a new course and i am full time since i begin studying in it. No drops or unauthorized work is included in this course.

That's the most you can do. Include a letter explaining the situation and hope for the best. Good luck.

If you have been approved a new study permit based on the new LOA for the new program then seems like IRCC is okay with you. Finish the program in time and then hire an immigration lawyer to present your case for PGWP, I would not recommend handling it on your own.

i had this query in mind only, that if they were okay to extend my study permit based on the LOE i gave. Will they stay okay with it for pgwp as well?? Or i have to clear stuff more ?.
and hopefully i will pass this course with flying colours working hard on my course load and will be get it done in 2022 dec.

your previous study in Canada will not be counted towards the PGWP, and a lawyer can present your case in a legal manner. At the moment the best you can do is to do justice with your current program of study and hope for the best.

That is far from guaranteed. Each are evaluated individually.

Yes, i am working on my current program nicely.
sometimes my past haunts me and i feel anxious about the impacts it will give to my future application and i feel very bad about it.
So it’s just i need guidance about the true path.
Thank you so much for your positive thoughts.

Nobody can anticipate how your unauthorized work will impact PGWP. You knowingly worked when you knew you weren’t entitled. Do you have proof that there was no way to travel home during that whole period?

It took place during my previous course. Which i dropped. I again matched required conditions for study permit and applied for a new course. So what i have to show for this period of time as i will be applying pgwp based on my new course.

Not following the conditions of your study permit will be considered for the whole time you were a student in Canada. The length of a potential PGWP is determined by the length of the new course you started if you study full-time (except the last semester where you can be part-time if necessary to complete the program).
