Anyone tried Flagpoling/Flagpole after 7 September(Requesting PGWP etc at US land border)?

Because of the long wait times of PGWP processing both inside and outside Canada. I am thinking to try it now to get work permit on spot at US-Canada land border. Just wondering if somebody tried after 7 September (after non-essential travel is opened) and was successful in obtaining the required document? Thank you.

Assuming you are inside canada, for flagpoling you will have following issues :

Assuming you are fully vaccinated, you want to flagpole, you will have to "technically" exit canada and immediately re-enter. This is an issue. To do that even if you are fully vaccinated you need a molecular diagnostic test because that is the requirement for re-entry into canada currently. That test report need to be less than 72 hours. Now issue is, if you get one from Canada before leaving, I am not sure if they will accept it at border unless you are a Canadian citizen or PR.

My husband was waiting for a closed work permit (based LMIA ) since July 2021. After 7 September and since we are form TRV exempt country, my husband flew to Vancouver and had successfully received his work permit at the Port of Entry. The immigration officer just asked to see his LMIA and an offer letter from his employer.

What documents he carried?
How did he manage the -ve covid test requirement for re-entry into Canada?
Where did he get his test? ie Did he get his test done in Canada or USA?

His lawyer prepared for him a POE package with a lot of different documents (like his education and work experience, LMIA letter, etc.), eventually just a LMIA and an offer letter was needed.
He flew from Israel , and as he is fully vaccinated (he had a translated vaccination certificate) he just needed to carry out a PCR test 72 hours before the flight.

So he went back to Israel and flew back in? That might work... Since he is visa exempt (assuming he carries an Israeli passport) and then he entered back at airport (as TRV exempt). So he is entitled for applying a new WP.

BTW, this is NOT a flagpole as he actually went away and then came back...

Apparently, thats not an issue.

I still dont know how he avoided re-entry covid tests.

Flagpoling doesn't involve entering the US.

Flagpoling isn’t allowed but some get lucky. You have to go to the border knowing you may be told that flagpoling isn’t possible.
