Location Change in Closed Work Permit

Hello Everyone,

Currently, I have a work permit with location - Calgary. I found there are opportunities at Edmonton and Ontario.

Could anybody please let me know the procedure to change the location in the Work Permit?

How many days would it take to process?

As I responded to your other thread, I suspect that you will need a new closed work permit, and if required for the current one, a new LMIA. What might have been a reasonable assessment of not finding a Canadian to do your job in Calgary may well not apply in a different location.

If my employer listed one location and address on the LMIA but has more than one business can I work at different locations with the same work permit without that being a problem?

NO. Look at conditions of your work permit where it allows you to work. If not, you have to get your WP changed.

Thank you, that’s what I thought but have been told otherwise by some. One address on my work
Permit allows me to work at one location even though it’s the same owners at other locations with the same kind of business.
