New Instructions from IRCC for applications before 7th Sep 2021

Applied for wife's visit visa to join me in CA on sep 13 2021.
Got refusal today , she even had valid USA visa but now I wouldn’t re apply but we will just wait for PR for both of us.
I applied under CEC (me inland , she is outland).
I am refusing your application on the following grounds:
• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay as a temporary resident, as stipulated in paragraph 179(b) of the IRPR, based on your immigration status.
• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay as a temporary resident, as stipulated in paragraph 179(b) of the IRPR, based on your family ties in Canada and in your country of residence.
• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay as a temporary resident, as stipulated in paragraph 179(b) of the IRPR, based on the purpose of your visit.

Sorry to hear that., I don't know how else you could convince the visa officer that she would leave...probably the CEC application created doubts

I submitted my application to IRCC portal as soon as I could when I found out they werent processing the applications from before September 6th.
I finally received my proof of employment letter and would like to attach it, how can I do that after submitting?

Anyone here applying from the US for visitor visa? I applied on August 31, completed biometrics on September 21.
I'm applying to visit my first cousin based in Toronto. Should I re-apply? Any luck with webforms and responses to webforms to expedite the process?

You have to send it by webform.

Hi Everyone - Seems we are getting good info. form this forum, so thought to share our case with others. My wife applied for a visitor visa right after our marriage, to be able to come to Canada, where I currently reside
- 1st Application through GCKey on August 9th
- 2nd Application through GCKey on September 9th

2nd application was received and seems they have started procession. on Sept. 24, they requested Proof of Marriage (Photos of Marriage and Engagement, etc.), and we had that submitted on the same day. Oct. 7, the application status was updated to Reviewing the provided supporting documents. Today, Oct. 18, no updates yet. Still waiting for further updates.

Hi Everyone.

I applied for my parents visitor visa so they could see my brother in canada whom they havent seen from the last 2 years. I submitted the application on 29th sept 21 via GCKEY and I was unaware of the new portal at that time.

Later on after their biometrics I came to know about the new portal and read that the response has been fast as it gives an option whether this application is for reuniting with an immediate family member. Further read that the previous application would be automatically withdrawn if I go ahead with the new portal.

For reuniting my family, I applied again on the new portal.

Could anyone please share their views regarding my situation? I would be extremely grateful.

They say new portal is for Visitors and response is faster between 14-30 days.. If supervisa then its not recommended.. You can submit new application with no gaurantee of refund of fees of old application. For new application need to pay fees again. Old application IRCC will withdraw, you dont need to do anything...

Hi everyone,

I had applied for my mother's Super Visa on June 15. We had completed the Biometrics on August 2. However, after the new guidelines from IRCC, I had re-applied on September 11. We got the request for medical, which was completed on October 4. However, post this, there has been no update from IRCC.

Can anyone who got the Super Visa or still waiting share their experiences? Would be helpful to know your timelines.

My parents supervisa application submitted Mar2021; however Biometrics and medicals were completed in Sep2021. Post that no update. My parents did upfront medicals, still not reflecting in GC key. just know that file is transferred to local visa office... if from INDIA, the timelines seem to be worst..

Hi all. I submitted multiple webforms for my parents visa and got generic response from Delhi VO. I also submitted a travel exemption form as suggested by someone on this thread and my dad got response today and it suggested to re-apply using the IRCC portal.



While we are unable to provide an update on the processing of your visitor visa application, please note that if you applied before September 7, 2021 and need to travel to Canada now for one of thefollowing reasons, we recommend that you submit a new application through the IRCC portal. If you require written authorization, your request will be processed as part of your new visa application.



Now am confused what to do.
timelines: GC key application on July 5th
Biometrics letter : July 6th
Biometrics from US: July 29 (they are currently visiting my brother in US)

webform : Sep 23, Oct 11 -got generic response for both asked me to submit web


Travel exemption form: Oct 11

I had submitted some document and in response today they mentioned that your file is transferred to canadian visa office Delhi and i need to contact them for any further details..

Your applying visitor or Supervisa... If visitor then recommend to reapply using IRCC portal.

I applied for the second time on Oct 10th for a visitor visa via IRCC portal. Today I logged in to my old GC key application and saw that the application was withdrawn but i didn't receive any email. is this normal? as there are no updates in the new ircc portal application.
does it mean they have started processing the new one?

Today i got an email from ircc portal to submit a passport in the ircc portal that is valid for more than 6 months , after i applied for the second time.
my current passport (the one i used in the application expires in a few months). Is this somehow equivalent to PPR?

if am not wrong, passport request comes from Local Visa office. But an indication that they want to issue PPR, but they want a passport which has good passport validity.. you have not renewed? you will get visa only till expiry of your passport..
