Those who have already booked or want to travel on Etihad airline's India-Abu Dhabi-Toronto route gather here. Lets all share information about this route. I am hearing contradictory information, so a separate topic on this will help us clear any confusions.

When I contacted Etihad airways on Twitter they said this
“as per current regulations, we are conducting COVID-19 rapid PCR testing at Abu Dhabi airport for connections with a transit time minimum of 04:30 hrs and maximum transit of 06:00 hrs. The fee is USD50 payable at check-in in India. Please keep on checking our travel guidelines and regulations available on our website here: http://bit.ly/TravelGuideEN. Once you click the link, please enter the departure and arrival city and click on "Transit Information" & "Covid-19 testing and clinics.”

I am considering booking a flight from Ahmedabad to abu dhabi 23 hours layover to Toronto. Does anyone know is it possible to get a pcr test without transit visa?

For Indians- You can only transit for maximum 6 hours in Abu Dhabi. And no transit visa is required. If you are booking Etihad, they will take care of PCR test etc, you just have to prepay

Thank you, where can you find information that you can only do a maximum of 6 hours in Abu Dhabi? I have 2 options, one is a 2 hour layover or 23 hour layover. I think the 2 hour layover is not enough for the pcr test.

Hey I also booked the same route to travel to canada. Just to confirm etihad will take USD at check-in at India for the rt pcr test in Abu Dhabi right ?

I found this info on Etihad website. 2 hours is not enough for pcr test. Also, Etihad airlines is personally arranging pcr test etc and making sure passengers won't have to change terminals. If you are booking on any other airlines, I don't know how you will do all this arrangements

I see, am planning to use etihad only where there is a 23 hour layover. Am worried about the 6 hours maximum thing.

Better call airlines and confirm. If such a flight is available, who knows, maybe they changed the rules again to allow 24 hour transit?

Thats a relief. I'm departing from hyd on 25th via abudhabi.
PCR testing in abudhabi during 6hr transit is reliable then

In ArriveCan, what do you list the "country of original departure" as? India or UAE?
