This is obviously a loophole which many people are going to exploit. I have been trying to debate this exact point but rather than acknowledging they are the beneficiaries of this crappy immigration system, these people want you to believe that they deserve PR move than anyone else because their so-called Canadian experience makes them superior and they pay taxes which apparently keeps the Canadian economy afloat.
This is such an immature and shallow viewpoint that only makes sense to people below the IQ of 50.
It is a shallow and immature viewpoint. I am also considering going back to university in Canada, but I'm limiting myself to universities and degrees that I think will actually benefit me (which makes it far less likely that I'll even get in). If I do end up becoming a PR because I was a student there first, I will forever maintain that I bought my PR to Canada, and it'll likely be a source of guilt for a very long time. But again, I am just playing the game. I don't make the shitty rules.

Yeah same here, considering going to school in Canada. I guess most of the fsw aspirants are planning the same. Good luck to everyone.

Hi mushymush !

By the beginining of next year, you will be one of the first guys to get an inivation to apply. You have achieved so much that is impossible to ignore you, so don't panic just yet. Either Ontario will invite you as a French speaker or you will get an ITA before that.

There is no need to spend a single dime on a master degree, unless it will be useful for your career.

I suggest you wait till the first draw of January 2022, if this PNP/CEC BS is continued then go ahead with the study permit if you want. We can now be sure that no FSW draw will happen this year because CEC draws have pretty much stopped.

OINP invite at 500+ is impossible.

I'm not commenting on what classifies as skilled or whether this person is skilled or not. I'm more talking about them moving to Canada to get a 1 year diploma for the sole purpose of immigrating. A diploma which they: 1. didn't need, and 2. apparently wasn't even good enough to get them a fulltime job? My problem is with this idea IRCC apparently has that Canadian degrees or diplomas somehow make you an incredibly employable person, when that just isn't the case. At all.

I have nothing against the guy. He's arguably made smarter decisions than all of us here by figuring out how shitty this game was, and by leveraging his advantage.
To be really honest, have you tried applying for a Study Permit? If you do from outside Canada for such a diploma, very likely you will be rejected for "taking a course that is not reasonable" and officer "not convinced that you will leave canada".

Study permits have high rejection rate.

This is obviously a loophole which many people are going to exploit.
Not a loophole and it is tried many times. Just check study permit section. It is denied almost always too.

@ElvisRamaj Thanks for your kind words.

@seadrag0n unfortunately if draws don't happen until next year, application windows will have already closed. I have no choice but to do the needful and apply to university now. If I get an ITA and pass eligibility by the time I get a response from a university, I will decline the university offer. But waiting until next year to decide is not a wise decision.

Hi guys,

I need some serious advise. As the EE dream is falling out for many of us I want to pursue another masters degree overseas with the hope of pr eventually. Canadian degree, as many of u stated here is not worth it for me. I'm looking at EU and US options. I'm more inclined towards doing a degree in the US as it has always been my dream to settle in North America. As there are lot of folks here who have done degrees from the US, can u guys please advise? Is it sensible to do a degree in the US if ur long term goal is to settle there? How hard is it to gain permanent status after study and OPT?
Your advice would be much appreciated
if you are not in tech, don't come to US.

Gonna need some sources for this 'likely to be rejected' stuff. At the end of the day, I am only applying to universities and programs that I actually think could be useful. I'm not applying for a random pg diploma at Maple Syrup University to con my way in, even though that's a valid option, and possibly the only path to PR in the future.

mushynibbuh you gotta do what it takes if you want to reach where you want to, better to try and win/fail rather wait. you 100% gets an ITA when draws resume but i have no hope it'll be processed within 18 months, same if i get the ita, i don think i will reach there in 2024 when draws resume in 2022
