Anybody else experiencing delay in getting your eta approved?

my eta has been stuck in progress since early August.
Ive heard that there are others who have waited for several months to get their approved.

eTAs are typically approved almost immediately. Usually eTAs only take longer to process if there is some issue with your profile (e.g. past arrests or criminal convictions, previous refused visas, etc.). If you have some sort of issue or complexity with your profile that's causing this longer processing, you may be waiting another few months.

I'm 100% certain there's nothing wrong with my profile.
My previous eta got approved within minutes. I am applying for a new ETA cuz I had to renew my passport.
I called IRCC couple weeks ago and they said it can take long because of covid and the situation with afghan refugees.
I know that's not entirely true cuz others are getting theirs approved immediately.
Wondering why my application needs to be reviewed by an officer

People are still getting eTAs approved immediately.

There must be a reason why yours is taking longer. Renewing a passport should not result in such long processing times.

Did you visit Canada on your previous eTA? If so, how long were you here?

Yeah many times to visit my family. When I visit I'll be in Canada 2-3 weeks. Never had this problem before. Also I found another person on a different forum who had to wait over 6 months to get her eta approved with no explanation as to why it took so long. I'm guessing it's occurs randomly to certain people..
