Hi.

I started studying full time at UBC in January 2021. Then I withdrew from all courses (due to personal, financial reasons) and came back to my country ASAP. Summer term is not break for my program. I took authorized leave for summer term. I started studying again this September term (online-in my country / as you know due to covid until December 2021 it is ok to study online for pgwp). I see I have a gap longer than 150 days. I am worried about my PGWP eligibility. I love my program and university but pgwp rejection really bothers me and affects my studies.

1) Have you seen people who had the case like this and get approved PGWP at least at second application (reapplying) ?

2) Do you think changing university and program would solve this issue? So in my new program I may not have any gaps which I would be full time student during my new program.

3) What alternatives are available for pgwp rejected people? What is flagpoling?

1. Provided it was authorized leave and you can justify to the immigration when applying for pgwp, It is up to the officer to make decision based on the information you provided
2. Changing a new program will widen the gap, and you'll have to justify "progression toward completing your studies" after you drop out from your DLI. Changing DLI has conditions, one you need to be active studying if you are applying from within.

3. I dont see other alternative than the first one above. Flagpoling isn't an option, and if it is they have records of your initial SP. the difference is, you have face to face option to clarify infant of the CBSA

They will not be able to tell you through webform since you don’t have an application underway. If your leave was authorized then get the university to write a letter about your withdrawal. When you apply for PGWP, you will have justification for your leave.

I asked my program several times. They dont provide letters like this. Actually this frustrates me a lot because I am studying at UBC which is well-known univeristy but unfortunately Diploma in Accounting program office only telling me to use emails as a reference.

I have email confirmations from them about withdrawing and temporary leave. But i dont think this might be helpful.
