Thank you! I did see this update. However, I'm confused about the part that says "you already told us that you qualify for a COVID-19 exemption". By "already told us" what do they mean? "Told us" how? Is this about selecting the purpose of travel as "Other - COVID-19" in the main application form? Or does this refer to those individuals who have submitted a webform asking for exemption?
Either one would do. It serves the same purpose. And yes, they mean if you have notified them of your status through either one of these methods then you do not need to resubmit the application.

Could you pls help me… I submitted application in august with usual procedure for visitor visa(tourism) to celebrate my 2 year son birthday which is on 27th September. I just explained this reason and never mentioned anything related to COVID 19 exemption since border opens 7th September . Thinking this in mind I appliled regular visitor visa attached with cover letter requesting for 2 weeks.

so what should I do now ? Resubmit or raise web form or just leave it as it is?
You or someone help me….

If you raised a webform and received a response for family unification, I would suggest that you just wait. if not then I would suggest that you reapply as soon as possible by mentioning your exemption status. Raising a webform now may not help since your travel dates are very near. Webform response takes quite a bit of time.

Also I would like to add that there is no guarantee that you may receive a decision in time for your travel even if you reapply. They have mentioned that they will respond within 14-30 business days if your application is complete. So you need to be prepared for that.

No update. Now that the IRCC recommendation is updated (" If you applied before September 7, 2021, and you already told us that you qualify for a COVID-19 exemption, you do not need to submit a new application or write to us again. "), I guess I do not need to reapply. Still not sure!!

Have you received the same message/email recently?
Yes, I also received the same email.. let me know if you get any update

I am currently in Canada on a work permit. I submitted a visitor visa application for my son who is Outland and submitted a medical. It has been showing that the medical is being reviewed for about a month now. He has Autism Spectrum Disorder. Will this impact the length of time and outcome of his visitor visa application? I submitted for my other kids and it showed medical passed the next day.

If I want to reapply do I include all of my papers again ? Or just submit a new application for the visitor application form ?

Hi everyone, I am preparing my mother's application. I have PR, so I think I should mention COVID-19 as the purpose of travel in the form 5257e, right? Should that be mentioned anywhere else too?
Also, a question, should I mention anything related to COVID in her letter of explanation or my invitation letter? I mean should she have a quarantine plan?
She will not come to Canada now as it may not be safe, we are putting august as a potential date, will that cause an issue?
Thanks!
Hi , did your mom get the visa?
