looks like those pathways they created this year will be permanent... most likely open from time to time
That point specifically mentions express entry, TR to PR pathway has nothing to with express entry. They will just give more points to people having Canadian education and work experience in EE which will mean the end of outland immigration. Maybe everyone waiting for ITA should just apply for a study permit if they really want to get PR.

From the liberal party platform released today : https://liberal.ca/wp-content/uploads/sites/292/2021/09/Platform-Forward-For-Everyone.pdf

(Page 32)

A re-elected Liberal government will:
• Reform economic immigration programs to expand pathways to Permanent Residence for temporary foreign workers and former international students through the Express Entry points system.
Wow..! so Liberals will grant even more free points to make unqualified people qualified in the express entry system so that Liberals can get more votes from them in the future. Eduardo will be happy with this news. :)

Jokes aside, I'll probably wear a conservative tshirt all day every day in Canada for a while. Canada should stop selling education by using its immigration system as a carrot on the stick. CEC and PNP programs are already giving an insane amount of extra points to in-canada applicants. It is impossible to become a FSW-O applicant without having an 8 out of 9 from IELTS, a master's degree, at least 3 years of professional experience, certain amount of financial resources and being younger than 30-32.

It appears liberals will only see an outlander as an equal to an in-canada cleaner if the outlander has a doctorate, speaks 5 languages with at least 5 years experience as a CEO of an international company. God.. Liberals really need to go.. This is crazy.

Yeah, but they won't be launching these programs anytime soon. They promised they'd abolish citizenship fees in the last election of 2019. They didn't do it and again copy-pasted the same promise in their new platform. CBC's poll predictions are kinda right. In the last election, CBC predicted a minority government for the Liberals. This time Éric Grenier is just predicting 138 seats.

they could always create another pathway inside EE using the same rules and conditions as those TR to PR.... it's not like it is impossible for them to do this, they could always change however they want how EE works... if TR to PR is not part of EE right now, it does not mean it won't be part of EE later. Considering how they always change their plans.... everything is possible, even if they say TR to PR won't happen again.

Canada all of a sudden doesn't look so appealing to me anymore even if I get the PR tomorrow. All these years I thought getting a PR would be an achievement but my life is so much better right now in my own country I don't wanna give it up for Canada which will pretty soon turn into a third world country. Getting a Canada PR has become a joke.

Even if the Liberals win a minority, they wouldn't be able to make changes to the EE because it might require new legislative amendments and it is unlikely given a minority government.
They already have made many changes and added new pathways without requiring legislative approval.

Wouldn’t that bring back the way it was? I believe before, if you had any LMIA job offer you got 200 points, so the cutoffs were impossible for an Outland applicant without job offer.

I'm personally more worried about those possible restrictions they plan to do if a majority government is formed... I'm not talking about covid here

I personally think this is the reason they are not conducting FSW draws, everyone just assumed it’s covid, I don’t think there is an official gov reason that they gave for not conducting them. Canada was always an outlier in terms of giving PR to someone who has not stepped foot in that country. Every other country I can think of will atleast want the person to be in the country before giving a PR, it was bound to change at somepoint, looks like we may be the unlucky ones.

WRT to election predictions I think whatever happens, the new gov will not change policies until atleast a couple of months of forming government.
