Hey! Same here, applied May 16th, Biometrics done on May 28th. It's been 8 weeks already and no news yet. Applied in Bogotá, biometrics done in Medellin. Hopefully we can get the answer on time for the fall classes.

Is English proficiency required for application for Canada study permit?

it depends on the visa office. check each visa office requirements. some do, others dont.
back in my day, i applied without (mexico office) and got approved.
