Hello Everyone,
I came to India on 16th Feb 2021 for family urgency. I have work permit valid till 18th July 2021.Before I came to India, I applied for TRV on 11th Feb. 2021 and still waiting for Response on TRV application. I have filled out couple webforms and got the same response saying I need to wait. Let's say if I get response before June 2021 and I know that stamping might take 1.5 months but I don't have that much time. Is there any way I can get stamping done quicker? What happens if I get PPR and get stamping done but now my work permit expired! will I be eligible to go to Canada? I work there full time even right now I am working remotely. Also, on the other hand I received COPR but that status is on hold as I am not in Canada.

Any suggestions to get the response on TRV application or to get stamping done quicker would be appreciated.

I hope to see some positive response on this platform.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,
I am also a bit same situation. I came in Jan. now my TRV is in process from last 5 months. I got PR confirmation portal request which I replied outside Canada. Waiting for there response. Not sure whether they will issue COPR or not. Currently New Delhi is close as per VFS. Can’t see possibility to get stamping quicker. If you get PPR and you holding US visa u can try to get it approved from there as in this thread one person did. You got COPR while you in India? Didn’t you asked then travel authorisation letter?

I got response saying My PR Status is on hold until I comeback to Canada. I do have US Visitor visa but I don't think so that I can travel to USA on visitors. I am not sure if flights are open for visitors. And they also responded that I need to wait for TRV response and I can't go back on COPR as status is on hold.

After you WP expires you won’t be able to travel to Canada given the restrictions unless you have a spouse who is a Canadian citizen or PR.

See if you can get your passport stamped from any other country (if you have active visa) where travel restriction is not placed. USA has closed its borders for people who have been in India for the past 15 days (unless GC holder or Citizen). Nepal was an option but I saw they have closed operations starting Apr 28, 2021. I have confirmed from IRCC that stamping can be done from any country around the world if you have a PPR. Try not to expire your WP, as after that you won't be able to return back to Canada given the current restrictions.

Thank you very much for your response. If VFS opens their offices in India, Is there a option to get stamping on urgent bases? We are willing to pay if that's an option.

I am exactly not sure about that. Usual timeframe was 30-45 for end to end stamping + passport delivery. But before closure, when Covid cases were rising in India this timeline was ~60 days. It will be very hard to predict what the situation will be when VAC/IRCC resumes operations in India. There are multiple videos floating around in Youtube where different hacks have been shown on how to expedite stamping process in India. But can't say if those works.

Thank you. I will dig deep into this and find out. only thing we can do is to wait to get Passport request and be prepared for things after that. I really appreciate your input on this.

May 20 emailed IRCC.COVID-TravelExemptions-Exemptionsdevoyage-COVID.IRCC@cic.gc.ca and raised webform at https://secure.cic.gc.ca/ClientContact/en/Crisis with all the docs showing I'm exempt from travel restrictions. Both with immediate auto reply.

Do u know why your PR file is on hold? I sponsor my wife last year March and she is back home right now, not in Canada. just want to know it will effect on her file or not because I have seeing getting approval for other people apply after us. just want to confirm it will effect on her file or not, because we have received PPR request for her TRV but VFS are close in India.

can u share if inland PR applicant is back home it will effect on process or not, if we can get COPR she may able to travel back in Canada Soon.

Hello All,
I got my PPR request today. As per VFS they stopped passport services for now. Anybody here who is waiting to raise a webform to submit Passport in India?

I received ppr on April 29th but vfs was already closed. Only option is to wait until vfs resumes services or travel to a different country and get stamping done
