Hi everyone,
I got accepted from 3 years of Computer Programming & Analysis in Seneca College for the Fall intake. I am planning to apply for the study visa in a few weeks. However, I am worried about if I will be rejected, and thus I am seeking for any suggestion or comment on my application.
I have graduated from an unrelated degree program in Turkey (healthcare), after working a year. I did my military service for one year as an obligation. After that, I become interested in computer science and started to learn from online sources, in the last few months I also earned a couple of certificate. I would like to continue my career in this field. Since Canadian education is better than in Turkey, and I want to study more practical subject rather than theoric. Additionally, diplomas or degrees from Canada are well respected in Turkey. So I think, it will stand out in my CV, plus this will me give a good experience and knowledge in relatively short period of time.
I am 25 years old, I studied 1 year as an exchange student in Europe in my previous education, and also I studied in a language course in Toronto, Canada around 4 months (my visa ended a couple months ago). I have not got any visa refusal before.
My father is going to be sponsor for my education, he is currently working. He has around 120k Canadian Dollars liquid in his bank account, I also have around 5-10k and I paid the first semester fees already. Additionally, we have some properties and cars both on my father and mother.
I am sorry for the questions since there is no exact answer but I am super worried and I really want to study in this program.
1) How do you think is my chance of getting study permit?
2) What should I do to increase my chance?
3) I know switching career might be a negative point, but I don't really do my previous job and I really want to be in computer science (especially programming), so how can I explain or prove it properly in my SOP?
4) Since some of the properties are on my mother, should I show her as a sponsor too? or more than one family sponsor is not a good thing I don't know. ( They are still married btw if it matters)
Lastly, I have an older brother who is an engineer and working for a Turkish company, too.
Thank you for reading this long thread, and I would like to hear from you. You can also give me any suggestion. I appreciate your answers already.
