Hi Guys,
I have 2 questions and it would be great if you guys could help me out with them -

1) I was unemployed and I landed a job which starts from Monday i.e. May 3 and my employer will give me letter dated May 3 for the immigration pathway. As the eligibility states that you should be employed when filing for the pathway, which I would, do you all think this would be an issue at all.

2) My pgwp is expiring soon and and I am preparing to file under the temporary policy for extension of the work permit, will that be an issue if I am able to submit my file on May 6 under the TR to PR pathway. I was concerned as someone I know told me that this TR to PR pathway makes you ineligible for the BOWP and I was wondering that is it true for the temporary policy for extension of the work permit also. Moreover if thing is true for the BOWP, where can I find that source which states the same.

Thanks a ton guys.
1.) should be fine
2.) if your PGWP expires expire within 4 months from the date you apply for the extension before July 27th 2021, your eligible to get the extension. If not, your also not eligible for BOWP.

For the back of the photo, mine is stamped but doesn't have date. I wrote this myself along with my name and dob. Is this fine?

I thought the photo would be uploaded? Do we really need to upload the back of it?
Nothing has been mentioned about uploading back of the photo in IRCC website and I never had to upload the back of the photo in my previous applications, but we shall wait and see...I doubt it

Hey thanks for the reply, as you said if not, do you think or do have any doubt that it won't be eligible for that.

If anyone else know for sure, please guide me as I have been worried a lot.
IRCC tweeted that BWOP won’t be eligible for this stream. If you can’t get the PGWP extension, I’d recommend going after CEC or PNP to save you the hassle of getting LMIA.

Only a few more days to go...
Really hoping we get an updated Imm 0008 and/or program checklist tomorrow.

Other than that, I think that after 98 pages most people in here are pretty prepared for the application day.

We’ll be basically competing against each other but that doesn’t mean we can’t try and help each other out. Personally I’m not trying to hoard any information, I hope everyone in this thread can get into the program and share our timelines later on.

Saying this because I’ve seen messages in some communities trying to discourage eligible people from applying or intentionally misleading them. We’re not like that in here. So I wish you all the best.

Of course! there are nowhere near 40,000 people actively following updates and preparing so I'm not worried about us being competition to each other.

For a digital submission scanning the back of the photo doesn't really make any sense so this likely wont be a thing you can just take your own photo against a white background most likely.

Hi everyone, do we need police check (criminal Records)in Canada? Thanks in advance
If you have a common name or last name that matches someone with a criminal record’s, they might ask for one to make sure it’s not you.

It takes around 2-3 weeks to get it, it’s normally included in the processing time.

I personally got one upfront because it could save me 3-4 weeks of processing times and could speed up my criminality/security/background check stage.

When there was the 27k CEC draw, many people requested it at once and RCMP took longer to process them. If the stream fills up quickly there are chances many people will request them later and processing times to obtain them will take longer as well.

Wow, I really hope that pgwp extention should be fine because from what I think and how Isee it, BOWP is linked to the PR application as even the BOWP webpage first asks which PR program are you under and in this TR to PR they have already declared that this pathway won't be eligible whereas the PGWP extension public policy is in a a different lane and the eligibility requirements are in a different lane.

What do you think, because the LMUA would be a humongous hassle
Well are you eligible for the PGWP extension?

Yes I am eligible for that from what I checked as it says 4 months before the permit expires you can apply for the extention and last date for filing is July 27 and 4 months added to it is much after my PGWP expires.
Am I doing the calculations right?
See the requirements

To be eligible for this open work permit, you must meet the following 5 requirements:

  1. Your post-graduation work permit (PGWP)
    1. expired on or after January 30, 2020, or
    2. will expire within 4 months from the date you apply for this open work permit.
  2. You were in Canada as of January 27, 2021, when the public policy took effect, and have stayed in Canada since then.
  3. You either
    1. have a temporary resident status (this could be from having a valid PGWP, visitor record, or another permit that allows you to stay in Canada), or
    2. lost your temporary resident status, but you’ve already applied to restore it, or
    3. lost your temporary resident status, but you’ll apply to restore it at the same time as applying for this open work permit
  4. You include in your application that you’re applying for an open work permit under this public policy.
  5. You have a valid passport.
    1. The work permit will be issued for up to 18 months from the date of approval or until your passport expires, whichever comes first. For example, if your passport is valid for 6 months, then you will be issued an open work permit for 6 months.
    2. To maximize the duration of the open work permit, make sure your passport is valid for at least 18 months from the date of approval.

Say if you apply on July 27th 2021 and your PGWP expires AFTER 4 months from the date of application (say December 2021), your not eligible.

On all my documents and canadian drivers license, I got Ottawa address, but my work documents has address of Niagara falls..
Yes its fine don't worry about it as they need to be sure that this person who is applying has or is working here and not that he/she lives here as that more is the work of your car insurance company when file a claim and not IRCC. I hope it makes sense
