I started my online course from India of 1 year duration in Fall 2021. Now that flights are banned and my course is officially ending on May 28, 2021 and not sure if flight ban will be extended. So I have two questions:

- Can I travel after my official course end date (28 May, 2021)? My study visa is valid till September 30, 2021 and college is a DLI approved one.

- In case I could not travel and then I will apply for a new study visa (in June) for another 1 year program starting Fall 2021, it is in line with my previous program, so will they reject my visa?

Anyone in a same situation, please share your thoughts.

Your study permit automatically expires 90 days after graduation so August (even though your permit says September). So visa officers may or may not let you enter as they will questions why you need to enter if you have a graduated. What will you do? You will not know until boarding. As for the second permit, if you show career progression and advancement, funds, ties etc. you may get one. Again no one can tell you for sure.

Thanks, that's what I guessed. Anyways, If I travel after course end date, I can show them that my course requires a co-op work permit and then , wouldn't it be better? I have applied for co-op along with my study visa. So, I think I can take my chances... ::deep breath::

How is a co-op work permit better? Doesn’t your co-op work term only begin when you start the second program. A co-op work permit is tied to the employer so have your job offer letter too.

Okay I got it. Then it means initially I was admitted to a co-op program but later they changed it with a capstone project as I am doing right now. Yeah I was always confused that I will do a co-op internship after the course. But that's not the case. You're right. So, in short, I am scr ewed.

you aren't screwed. All you can do is book a flight, hope you can board and then when in Canada, hope that officers allow you to enter. No one can say whether you will be successful or not. Have your 3 day hotel quarantine booked, negative covid test and an 11 day quaratine book.

Okay, I am planning to book a flight on May 26, so technically, I should be ok. Just that the border officers are at the discretion to deny me entry. I feel a bit scared about this. But I know that if I don't travel now , then it'll be really hard for me further down the line financially. So I am going to take the risk and book a flight for May 26. (course ending May 28, visa expiring Sept 30,2021)
