Sorry for asking again, but does it mean we have to pay the PR fee at the application, even if it's not requested generally?
It depends on whether you trust more the generic payment portal or the program-specific instructions as outlined in the policy.

From the PR Portal that already exists, it shows that you gotta upload the receipt.
So pretty sure this would be the same too. IRCC has introduced a payment for TR to PR pathway, pretty sure for a valid reason.

To clarify: I am not talking about the application fee that must be paid. I am talking about the PR fee that the portal says is not mandatory at application.

Oh that's usually requested later on, but it can delay your app. So upto you if you'd like to speed up the process. I believe there's a disclaimer too in the webpage.

We recommend you pay the right of permanent residence fee (CAN$500) now to avoid future delays. You will have to pay it before you become a permanent resident.

Hey guys I’m worried about the “be currently employed” part for the international graduates stream. I’m currently working but part time maybe 5-10hours in a week (hours cut due to COVID regulations in Toronto). Do you think that’s enough to satisfy the immigration office that I’m currently employed?

They didn't specify yet, my understanding is that you qualify but wait until they post more info

How much does upfront medicals carry importance? or can we just write in LOE that we already have an appt with the clinic attaching the confirmation of it?

If your employer doesn’t mind, I would say get a new one on May 5 just in case. It doesn’t hurt. But if it’s not easy to ask for another letter, the one you already have will probably work.
Thank you for the response. My question now is. Reference letter is different from letter of offer of employment. RF was issued April 22. Letter of offer for my position was given dec 12th. Do I need to get another letter of offer? Or we only just need Reference letter. Please guys help clarify

I think offer is from the date when it was offered; you can't change it. Why would you? The reference letter confirms that yes, you are still on that job.

My wife will be including her contract, her future contract and a letter of reference.

I have a question about this part:
  1. Be employed in Canada with a valid permit or authorization to work pursuant to the Act and Regulations at the time the application for permanent residence is received and must not be self-employed, unless working as a medical doctor in a fee-for-service arrangement with a health authority. The employment must meet the definition of work under subsection 73(2) of the Regulations;
Does a study permit that allows me to be employed as a research assistant in campus apply to this condition? because my study permit states that I can accept employment.

Yes, it should work. As long as you have a Canadian degree. I’m also a research assistant and have a Canadian degree and working on a study permit. We’ll see how it proceeds on May 6 and if this is all true or what!
