Your dependent cannot land before the PA lands. Your dependents can apply for a visitor's visa and travel if they can obtain the authorisation letter.
I agree that the dependent cannot land before PA, But if we apply for a visitor visa tho we will still need to prove that she will leave Canada if visa expires, but we already have a PR profile and it is already approved. It is kind of impossible to prove

How abt Bridge WP.will that be not helpful here?
Thanks for the reply, I am currently on a bridge WP, it requires currently in Canada, current work permit expire in 4 months and has to be the primary applicant. I think she missed all of those. :(

Just because you have a PR application doe snot by itself negate that you will not leave Canada of you apply for a TRV. Many PR applicants successfully apply for student and visits visa while there PR application is in progress, and dual intent is allowed.

Here is my previous post on this:

Hi there :) A simple question, I recently got married and changed all my ID's already using my husband's last name. Though my passport and work permit of course, still has my maiden name. Is that okay though? We are planning to submit our Spousal Sponsorship application this May. Thank you in advance for your response. I was told earlier that its fine not to change your passport's last name immediately. We are both here in Canada by the way.

AOR with Single applicant - Feb 2020
Medical and Biometrics was done in Feb 2020 for Principal Applicant.
Got Married - November 2020
Added spouse ( Submitted additional Doccumnets ) - December 2020
Dependent is outland.
Still Waiting for BIL for Spouse. No update since then.

Primary Visa Office - Ottawa
Secondary Visa Office - Vancouver immigration

My Question is can i apply for Spouse open work permit?
or did anyone apply for SOWP while PR Application is still in process?

It seems like they are starting COPR for outland spouses. However, so far I have only seen those cases getting approval which have AOR in 2018 or 2019. Eagerly waiting for someone from AOR 2020 or early 2021 to report here so that we can start relaxing a bit.

Agreed!

For some reason I received a ghost update last night even though all stages are passed since mid-March. Anyone else who got the ghost update?
