Just off the call with an agent. Unfortunately they are new updatesSep 1 AOR. Saw a ghost update today!
hi Guys and @legalfalcon,
My application details are below.
AOR: Sep 17, 2020
Status: eligibility recommended passed, criminality passed and security not started
I need a help. I have a BOWP and my spouse is on study permit. We might need to go to our home country due to personal reasons. We don't have our TRVs yet so I have following questions -
Thank you in advance!
- Is it recommended to apply for TRV now as the processing time is around 70 days?
- Do we need our passport for any process/steps once PR gets approved?
Thanks for clarifying @legalfalcon!!For inland applicants you will be sent the COPR, you do not have to send your passport. Only if your are outside Canada and not from a visa exempt country, you have to submit your passport for PR visa.
If you are on a TRV and want to travel outside Canada, you need a valid visa every time you want to enter Canada, unless you’re returning directly from a visit to the United States or Saint-Pierre and Miquelon, in which case you can enter Canada based on your valid work / study permit.
Students and workers
You can apply for a new visitor visa from inside Canada if you meet all the conditions below:
- you’re already in Canada
- you already hold a valid study or work permit
- you want to leave and return to Canada
- your existing visitor visa is expired or was valid for only one entry
