Hi! everyone.
I hope someone could help me.
I stayed in india from April 28-Oct. 4 and technically this is not 6 months, but in my forms they are asking me to upload PCC from india. How do they count 6 months? Is it literally per month or per days?

I'm feeling hopeless with BLS, they returned my application stating they updated fees starting April1. They received my documents last March 26. Oh my! They are so complicTed!

"they returned my application stating they updated fees starting April1. They received my documents last March 26 " -- Seriously??? This is ridiculous

My understanding was that its number of days(180) but your case makes me to think that the calculation might be based on number of months irrespective of start and end days in months. You can verify it by setting the end date as Sep 30

Thank you.

I think I figured it out. I put my stay in India in personal activities where it only ask for month and year, that is why it is computing it as 6 months. But if I remove (just to test) it the request for PCC disappears even though I have India in my history of travel.

This I see at passport seva.ca
March 8: Purolator Pickup
March 13:delivered at BlS
March 22: police Verification has been initiated and a request has been to Indian Embassy/Consulate. PCC needs to be collected from the Indian Embassy/Consulate where the applicant applied after a 'Clear' Police Verification Report is received at the Indian embassy/Consulate. My father went to Police station on the same day

While bls tracking site
Processing at embaassy/Consulate general

I only have time till may 10th

As far as I understood reading at this forum, BLS will update the status only after receiving the PCC. Have you ever got a PCC done before or is this the first time? In my case, I had a PCC done earlier but I need a new one. So may be our processes will be different. I'll keep you posted with my progress.

Did you check your status here? https://portal4.passportindia.gov.in/ after selecting Canada?

Sounds like an April fools gag on the part of BLS (if only!). Honestly, have not seen any organisation coming close to the level of fraud/ incompetency that BLS demonstrates.

I think you have a case to argue that you were not residing in India for more than 6 months and hence do not need a PCC from India. I would call IRCC and plead your case, before putting in more efforts with BLS. As a non-indian, it might take very long for you to get your PCC.
