I hope you will get your reply but most hotel rooms in Canada only take 2 adults. Unless it's a specially large suite.

I called in behalf of my mom who will come here as immigrant. She already have a flight for April 15 with 4 days stop over before the connecting flight. I just called Radisson to inquire about the policy if ever theres a changes on the flight and the guy from the front desk informed me about the info they received just today from the govt.
I just posted it here if in case someone needs to book a hotel with a flight within 48hrs and cant connect to the hotline. Anyway, you can easily call Radisson to confirm.
Yeah even I just checked the with the front desk at Hilton from the Toronto list. The same was confirmed by them as well. 48 hours before they can do the booking for us. Any booking prior to that needs to be done by the govt number. Thank you for updating this to the group. Really appreciate it!!, it’s a relief now!

Arrived last night, Feb 22 at 8:30pm. Toronto. The airport was empty. About 35 people on my flight in from Chicago.
In Chicago, United Airlines did a poll of who had booked a room, only about half had. They announced that if you had not booked a room, Public Health will help you. Apparently the lines on Sunday were upwards to 8 hours long to get tested and to clear customs. There was no one in line for testing, we were in and out in 10 mins. You are given a box with a test that you take at the end of the 14 day and you will do a virtual call with a nurse that will watch you take your test.
They let us walk through the airport to the train. The first car of the train is reversed for International travelers only, crew are there to make sure you get on in the right car. The hotel cost at the Sheraton Gateway is $525 per night for family of 3, includes $125 food credit, per day, per person. We were told it's likely we will not stay 3 days, the test results are coming back much faster because no one traveled. We asked the Public Health folks how long the line was to book hotel rooms and they said hours long and they were taken to another hotel, not the ones listed.
The Sheraton allows you to order room service, food is good. The $125 a day covers reasonable meals and includes the delivery fee, taxes etc.
They also allow you to have two 15 minute outside visits to get fresh air that you have to book with the front desk. Only issue is they don't answer the front desk, you have to keep calling because they are overwhelmed. When you do get through, they have you book both visits, so today I have 4:45-5pm and 10:00-10:15pm. Pretty amazing, it's not bad at all.

It took 11 hours in the cue. Had to call 3 times, each time it drops after 3 hours. My fist time I did it with one phone, the next round with 3 phones, the last round with 2 phones. They answered at 9pm, my guess is people give up towards the end of the day. They will allow you to book once you arrive, it's just not as easy, there is a long line and I was told by Public Health that they take those folks to a different hotel that is not as nice as the options that you can book on the phone.
They let us walk through the airport un-escorted, there are many checkpoints where they look for a quarantine sticker on the back of your passport to make sure you are allowed to walk through. No escort on the train.
I booked it before landing. You can book at the airport, will be a long line and most likely not be one of the hotels at the airport.
Two questions,
Did you observe ppl walking out of the airport directly without getting to the hotels? Also these hotels booked at the airport cost the same as ones listed or higher?
No one can leave that easily. Once you leave the testing, about every 10 meters is a person who will ask to see the quarantine test sticker on the back of your passport. We saw 5 people btwn the test site and the train to the hotel. No, all the hotels have different costs. When you call, they can tell you the costs of several, they do not want you to go through the whole list though.
What do you mean will most likely not be one of the hotels at the airport ? Are they cheaper ? Any estimates ?
The Public Health workers were not allowed to tell me where the hotels were or what the costs were.
I started to ask them why I had to book on the phone if you could book in the airport, and they said, "trust us, you made the right choice, the line is long, the hotels are not near here, and the amenities are not as good" and when I pried more, they said they could not give us more information.
I asked about cost, they would not say.
