My PR application was submitted and received at CPC Sydney on Oct. 29, 2020. My wife (Sponsor) and two kids are all Canadian citizens (we're waiting on citizenship certificates for the kids). Waiting on AOR1 now.
My wife is a teacher and her school year ends at the end of May. We're planning on traveling to Vancouver on June 3rd where she, as a Canadian citizen along with the kids, will be officially moving back to Canada. I, as a PR applicant, will be traveling with them in hopes of obtaining TRV status under dual intent upon arrival. (I am a US Citizen and passport holder so I do not need to apply for TRV or eTA before flying into Canada due to existing agreements between the two countries.) It is my understanding that if I declare my intent and am accompanying a Canadian citizen as a spouse, this TRV status is likely to be approved as long as I present documents that prove I am not a threat to overstay my visit. I have a return flight purchased and we are fortunate to have a good savings amount stored that can show I would not be a burden to the system should I overstay. Does anyone else have experience going this route and have had success?
Between now and then, our hope is that I receive AOR and our processing is underway by the time we head up in June, but after reading the horror stories about people getting rejected for small things like a missing zip code or email address on one form, we're trying to plan for all possibilities. In the event that my PR application is rejected, we're planning on a similar situation - we all travel up on June 3rd, they are moving home to Canada and I am planning on submitting an inland application and work permit upon entry to Canada. A similar question as above - has anyone had success going this route? (I have admittedly done less research on the inland route, so my question may be too broad.)
