Did u try to call CIC and check if you can get temporary file number??
Its astonishing what IRCC has been doing...7 months passed and they didnt even open application package??

No the processing time starts after AR, IRCC website states clearly.

Your processing time starts the day we receive your complete application and ends when we make a decision.

AR is the date when you application reached in IRCC whereas AOR is the confirmation from IRCC that they have received your application and available in their system

Thanks for replying. I’m really worried about the processing time and got confused with when should it begin. I got AR on late august 2020( which I checked by myself on canadapost, didn’t get any email from cic) and haven’t got AOR yet, if the processing time start from the AOR, it’s gonna be so long...
