Has anyone had any luck using the web forum to get information on the status of your application. Even to try speed up the process or just get an idea where they are with it. Seems like they’ve left so many people in limbo with the Jan intake soon and still no visas

How many months ago did you submit your application?

Applied in November, did biometrics start of December. I’m applying from Ireland.
Ah - OK. Unfortunately you're still well below the posted processing time.

You can certainly try submitting a web form to request status. However this won't speed up the processing time of your application.

Good luck. Hope you hear something soon.

Do they take into account course start date at all ?

No.

You'll need to defer your studies by a semester if you don't hear back in time.

Submitting webforms will help with having them look at your application based on my experience. Not so sure though about yours seeing as though it was submitted just last month.

Ok I see, the only thing is the employee at the VFS seemed to suggest the wait time was more like 2 to 3 weeks when I gave biometrics. Does that hold any merit ?

Probably not.

I would go by what's on the official IRCC site vs. what an employee at VFS says. Official IRCC site lists the processing time as 22 weeks.

2-3 weeks was realistic pre-COVID-19. Don't think it's in realistic now.
