I am an inland applicant, waiting for a decision on my PR application. However, I am planning to travel for 2 weeks to meet my family.

I recently heard that since Nov. 09, 2020, IRCC has started a new portal for confirmation of permanent residency, to ensure the applicant is in Canada before sending them a CoPR.

I was wondering if anyone here has received a CoPR after Nov. 09 and had to confirm their current status via the portal to receive CoPR? Or did you receive CoPR directly in email?

Any help would be appreciated and help me make an informed decision. Thanks!

I am exactly in the same boat. The only reason i am not going to meet family is what if i get stuck and what if i get copr. All these dilemmas make me so anxious. Everyday i look at my profile and no update. Today i just raised webform. When canada is doing so much for people to be reunited, what about the foreign workers who have applied for pr and are in limbo. Covid has been an excuse since march and now i am too frustrated.

Happy that two of our guys got CoPR from April and January. Hope we are next in line.

Mine is Feb 02. Its been quite some time since I have applied. All of the steps have been cleared in July, except medical, which was cleared in September. I think the only thing left is the final decision. That is why I am skeptical to leave.

Folks - Finally I got the CoPR confirmation today. Online Application is updated and shows 'Approved' along with COPR number. However there is no COPR PDF or email yet.

My timeline: ITA: Mid Dec 2019; AOR 29 Jan 2020; Medical furtherance: April to Aug; Medical Passed: 8th Sep 2020; Eligibility, Criminality, Security: Passed on 8th Sep 2020. Final: Approved on 9 Sep 2020; COPR confirmation in online account: 12 Nov ; CoPR email: awaiting PR Card: ____
